Geomagnetism's Virtual Instrument Museum
Canada's first magnetic observatory opened in Toronto in 1839. Since that time, the Geomagnetic Laboratory has acquired a large collection of instruments, which were previously used in magnetic observatories and for magnetic surveys. In 1998, the lab held an "Open House" event, which included a museum displaying the instrument collection. This showcase presents the same detailed information that graced the old museum as well as photographs of our instrument collection.
